On Saturday 23rd April at 11am H&H Auction Rooms will be holding one of their hugely popular Boat, Fishing Tackle and Chandlery Sales. With over 200 lots of tackle, rods, equipment, outboards and boats there is something for everyone who enjoys life on the water.
The Boat and Fishing Sales were the brainchild of Stephen Farthing, Auctioneer at H&H Auction Rooms, who started them in 2016. Since then, they have been a firm favourite in the auction calendar.
Currently, some highlights include a 23ft sailing boat, a Dory style boat by Bonwitco with a 30HP outboard, an inflatable tender by Honwave and rods and reels by Hardy’s, the famous maker from Alnwick. The Bonwitco carries an estimate of £1000 - £1500 making it affordable and useable. It is classed as unsinkable and these boats are often used as safety boats at clubs and as fishing boats throughout the UK. The sailing boat has a shallow draft and would make an ideal family boat on the Solway, with the outboard and trailer it is ready to set sail. It could be yours for around £500.

“With a growing enthusiasm for the outdoor life, there has been a lot of support for these sales over the years,” says Stephen. “Our sale in January had a great turnout and I am sure that with summer fast approaching we will get a good crowd attending, particularly as there is such a huge variety of items on offer. So sort out your sextants, bring out your boats and forage for your fishing rods if you want them included in this sale.”
H&H Auction Rooms is one of the longest established auction houses in the north of England, holding weekly sales of antiques and household furnishings.
