Hybrid Auctions proved successful in the second half of last year so we are carrying on until live bidding returns. Viewing days are in person and are an opportunity to see the lots, pick them up to examine them, check to see if things are right for you – all in a safe and controlled environment. Staff are on hand to advise on expected prices and to help with bidding. Bidding is by proxy on paper or email – leaving the highest bid that you are happy with for the lots or even booking a telephone bid for those special lots. So, although sale day is so different where no customers are present, the experience seems to be being well received.

Over 650 eclectic lots in this week’s auction including lot 366 this pair of colourful Cloissone vases.  Lot 402, these small hand carved onyx hardstone figures, are delicate pieces and add a contrast to the tea bowl in light blue ground.  Lot 439, this hardwood Indo Chinese stand and bell, shows a skilled carver’s hand and would grace any interior with style.  Finally, lot 99 a brass faced longcase clock, always looks well, this Fife based clock from Pittenweem is in great order.
