Gold is still proving to be a lucrative investment, the combined price on these items was £625. The sovereign reached a hammer price of £230, the cuff-links and gents signet ring £265 and the emerald and diamond ring sold for £130.
A pair of dark wood Ercol Goldsmith carver chairs sold for £60.
This group included two WW1 medals ‘The Great War For Civilisation 1914-19’ and a ‘1914-18 British Campaign’ medal, these are named to Pte F Bodycomb.
The WWII medals are named to H J Pilbeam of HMS Archilles for ‘Long Service And Good Conduct 1939-45’, ‘The Pacific Star’, ‘The 1939-45 Star’ and ‘The Atlantic Star’.
These medals and the Timor watches (previous image) were bought by the same purchaser, keeping the collection together.
2 Timor British Army wrist watches, circa WWII sold for a total of £850.
Twelve Swiss companies were commissioned to manufacture these and were affectionately known as the “Dirty Dozen” and Timor made 13,000 of these. They have their issue numbers on the back, the K number is the military store number and the other is the manufacturers number.

A First World War group comprising Distinguished Service Order, Order of the British Empire, 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals, the Star named to Captain Vincent Marcus Barron Scully, Royal Irish Regiment, the two other named medals to the recipient as Lieutenant Colonel, mounted with the ribbon alone of the Serbian White Eagle First Class. Scully, late of the Border Regiment, served pre-World War One with the South African Defence Forces, and as a Staff Captain of the Permanent Forces 1912-13, during the First World War he served at Gallipoli, in Serbia, Macedonia, Palestine and France, commanding the 10th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, and later the 5th Connaucht Rangers, he was Mentioned in Despatches four times, was wounded twice and was aboard HMT Arcadian when torpedoed in 1917, he was invalided out of the Army in 1924 due to wounds suffered.

We start 2021 with a gem. Japanese potter Fumi Fugushiba sells throughout the world and this decorated, glazed pot is a stunning example of his work. With a crackle glaze and hints of cobalt, this pot is a joy to behold.
