H&H Auction Rooms specialist sales in Boats & Fishing Equipment and Architectural & Garden Salvage are meeting people’s needs in increasing numbers. H&H Auction Rooms have announced details of its specialised sales for 2019, including two key sales for Spring, and are now seeking entries. In addition to its regular weekly sales, H&H Auction Rooms’ first specialised sale of the year, to be held on Saturday 16th March, is the 2019 Boat, Fishing and Equipment Sale. This is soon followed by the first of five Architectural and Garden Salvage Sales on Thursday 28th March, which has a particular focus on unusual sandstone salvage items. size="medium" H&H Auction Rooms’ specialised sales are immensely popular with both itself and its customers. As one of the longest established auction houses in the North of England, they regularly attract buyers from across the country, with in the region of over 200 lots. Speaking ahead of the first sale, Stephen Farthing, Auctioneer and Valuer at H&H Auction Rooms, said: “2018 saw a year of overwhelming sales, which uncovered some interesting and exclusive items, including vintage garden ornaments and stoneware, and each sold significantly well. “Our first specialised event will be our boat and fishing sale. We are looking for fishing tackle including reels and rods, floats and recent tackle, and fishing boats ranging from 14’ to 20’ especially. Rods and reels are always well presented and sell strong, with boat reels also in demand.” “Fishing boats with covers are particularly sought after, with 16’ typical in this area. Dinghies, canoes and kayaks, any outboard/inboard engines and parts, chandlery and equipment are also in favour.” “An increasing number of people are now looking to decorate outside, which is why there is a heightened demand for unusual salvage pieces for our Architectural and Garden Salvage Sales. “Items such as cartwheels, statues in stone or mixed, sandstone troughs in any size and garden furniture, which is also on the price rise, are very welcome for these sales. “Rose and red sandstone, in particular, are popular in Cumbria and sell superbly, as gardeners and landscapers are always keen to use unique items in designs for customers. Some of our past successes include stone pig troughs, millstones and sundials. size="medium" “I strongly advise getting your entries in early, as this will ensure broader advertising and in turn, better results. For specific items, collection can be arranged”, concludes Stephen. H&H Auction Rooms accept any entries from both public and trade. In terms of the items that are sought after, this includes antiques, vintage pieces and anything that can be classified as gardenalia or architectural. Stephen is willing to discuss or view any pieces in advance, for those who may be unsure of the suitability of any item for the sale. The dates of further specialised Architectural Sales taking place this year include:
