Antiques Road Trip Comes to H&H Auction Rooms
This episode of The Antiques Road Trip will be on air on Thursday 21st January . Renowned Cumbrian auction rooms receive a visit from TV celebrities from ‘Antiques Road Trip’ Leading Cumbrian auction rooms, H&H Auction Rooms, welcomed two well-known faces to their regular Monday sale this week. Celebrities Philip Serrell and Anita Manning joined the packed room of over 100 bidders to film their popular BBC 2 TV series Antiques Road Trip. 700 lots were up for sale with eight of these being sold under the watchful eye of Philp and the ever excitable Anita. They arrived at H&H Auction Rooms, having covered many miles of the local countryside in their faithful Fiat 500 scouring every nook and cranny for a bargain, looking to release the value at the regular Monday sale. Stephen Farthing, H&H Auction Room manager, said: “It was very exciting having two such noted celebrities from the antiques business join our busy crowd for our regular Monday sale. Hopefully Philip and Anita will have made their money back, it will be exciting to see the programme when it is aired to find out which was the winner.” H&H Auction Rooms were not privy to the prices paid but when a squeal or a groan was heard it was hoped that profits were made all round. Two items that were sold included a wooden ladder from a shop circa 1940’s and a Staffordshire flat back ornament. The hammer prices which were £130 and £44 respectively seemed healthy results. Other items included Masonic items, dolls furniture, a travel trunk, a retro lounge cabinet, a curling stone, cufflinks and an embossing stamp. Stephen said: “When the programme is screened I am sure it will reveal some great compulsive highlights of what was a great day all round.” ENDS
