Rolling Stones Memorabilia Auction

28th November 2019

An impressive lifetime’s collection of Rolling Stones music and memorabilia is coming up for auction at H&H Auction Rooms in Carlisle on 28 November.  It is being sold by local man Adam Irving, a die-hard Rolling Stones fan, and stretches the whole of their career from the early 60’s to the present day. Included in the unique collection is over 100 lots of Rolling Stones records, memorabilia and merchandise.  The vast compilation of items really reflects the diverse and popular careers of the band and members within the group. Some records even have original cellophane showing the care taken to preserve the choice pieces bought over the years. Adam explained why this is such a special collection: “My passion for the Rolling Stones began when I was 13 years old, when I started to live and breathe them and their music. I was always a huge Brian Jones fan before his tragic death.  Over the years I have lost count of how many times I have seen them and have travelled all over the world accumulating a very eclectic and rare mix of memorabilia. “I am truly sad to see it all go, but happy that someone else will have the chance to treasure the items as I have.  The collection is so special to me that I won’t be able to see it sold on the day, but I know it’s in good hands with H&H Auction Rooms.” Pricewise, there will be something for every budget and to suit every collector with some of the rarer 1960’s records predicted to raise in the region of £200, right down to t-shirts, which will be in the lower price bracket. For those wanting something a little more unique or personal, there will also be signed photographs, which are expected to reach a premium price.  Auctioneer, Stephen Farthing, said of the memorabilia: “This is an amazing collection with items from all stages of the Rolling Stones career and from all over the world.  Cataloguing it all has been a pleasure and challenge all in one because there really is just so much variety and the condition is second-to-none. “This sale is truly a one-off and I would encourage all Rolling Stones fans and music enthusiasts to come along on auction day, as there really is something for any rock and roll lover.” Some of the rather special lots going under the hammer are:

  • Voodoo Lounge uncut
  • Have you seen your Mother – Live (Japan)
  • Framed picture disc – Sticky Fingers (Spain)
  • Havana Moon
  • More Hot Rocks – Double
  • Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)
  • Tour Tee Shirts
  • Bigger Bang – EMI Netherlands.
