Saleroom Porter Vacancy

H&H Auction Rooms is part of the H&H Group and is one of the longest established auction houses in the north of England.  Based in Carlisle, we are looking for a Saleroom Porter to join our busy auction house team. The role will include:

  • accepting goods and chattels for sale and ensuring that all information in relation to the sale procedure is recorded
  • maintaining the auction room in accordance with agreed standards of merchandising and assisting customers during public viewing.
  • assisting in the presentation and handling of goods during auction days.

The role involves lifting and carrying furniture and heavy goods so the successful candidate will be physically fit, they should have the ability to communicate at all levels and have a confident approach to the role. In addition, successful applicants who are interested in developing the role will be encouraged to undertake wider aspects of the saleroom function such as marketing and social media. Applications will be considered on either a full-time or part time basis.
